The Family Liaison Program at ANR supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, and medically complex conditions, along with their families and caregivers. Our Family Liaisons help people navigate services, connect to trusted community resources, and participate in inclusive activities that support a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Serving families across Butler, Beaver, Lawrence, Armstrong, and Indiana Counties, the Family Liaison Program is designed to be a welcoming point of connection—whether you are seeking information, planning for the future, or looking to build community.

Resource Navigation and Service Guidance

Family Liaisons help individuals and families understand available services, programs, and community supports. This includes answering questions, explaining options, and helping families feel confident making informed decisions.

Charting the LifeCourse Planning and Transitions

Using the Charting the LifeCourse framework, Family Liaisons support individuals and families with goal setting, transition planning, and exploring options for a meaningful and fulfilling life at any age.

Advocacy, Rights, Safety, and Wellness Education

Families receive information and resources related to individual rights, personal safety, wellness, and self-advocacy to support independence and informed decision-making.

Social Opportunities, Trainings, and Community Events

Family Liaisons coordinate and share opportunities for social connection, educational workshops, trainings, and inclusive community events that encourage engagement and belonging.

Charting the LifeCourse is a nationally recognized framework that helps individuals and families focus on strengths, preferences, and goals. Family Liaisons use these tools to support conversations about daily life, community involvement, education, employment, and long-term planning.

Who Can Participate in the Family Liaison Program?

Eligibility and Program Access

The Family Liaison Program is open to individuals of any age with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, and/or medically complex needs. Caregivers, family members, professionals, and community partners are also welcome to reach out.

Families do not need to be enrolled in another program to receive support. Anyone seeking guidance or information within a served county is encouraged to connect with their local Family Liaison.

Family Liaisons share information through newsletters, email updates, and county-specific calendars. Events and activities are coordinated locally to ensure families receive timely and relevant information.
